On December 5, the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw will take place in Las Vegas. The groupings for the expanded 48-team tournament will be determined by the draw. The tournament will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. Twelve (12) groups will be formed for the teams. In the past in 1994, the World Cup draw was held in Las Vegas.
Teams will be decided into 12 groups of four nations each after the draw. According to the ESPN’s initial reports suggested that the Sphere, a venue with 17,500 seats that opened in 2023, was the most likely location for the draw.

Although, sources within the Sphere later confirmed to AFP and ESPN that the draw would not take place at their location. Likeness to 1994, Las Vegas will host the draw, notwithstanding, not being selected as host city for any World Cup matches in 2026.
